Dreaming Of You shocks at Dover

Dover, DE — Dreaming Of Lou delivered a 17-1 upset in Thursday night’s (March 21) Blue Hen/Open Handicap Pace at Bally’s Dover.

Dreaming of Lou and driver Tim Tetrick blasted off the wings of the starting gate, parking out Maximus Miki and a three-wide Penzance Hanover approaching the quarter. Penzance Hanover, who had won four consecutive races, cleared the lead passing the opening quarter in :26.4 and maintained the lead to the half in :55.1. Iwannabewithyou sprinted first-over up the backstretch, towing 4-5 favorite Maximus Miki and Jack’s Shadow N with him in the outer flow as Penzance Hanover continued uncontested to three-quarters in 1:22.4. After waiting patiently in the pocket, Dreaming Of Lou surged along the pylons late to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:50.3.

Penzance Hanover was a game second; Maximus Miki finished third.

Jim King Jr. trains Dreaming Of Lou, a son of Sweet Lou who paid $37.80 to win, for Jo Ann Looney-King.

Tony Morgan and Allan Davis each drove three winners on the night; Crissy Crissman-Bier collected a training triple.

When racing at Bally’s Dover resumes, on Monday (March 25), there will be a Pick-4 carryover of $1,534 and a Pick-3 carryover of $704. First post is 4:30 p.m.
