Campbellville, ON — An accident occurred during the 10th race at Mohawk on Thursday night, unseating a pair of drivers.

If I Didnt Care, driven by Jody Jamieson, was coming on for second when the 3-year-old filly made a break and stumbled in deep stretch, causing interference to the rest of the field. Most of the field was able to avoid Jamieson, but Dancers Cam and driver Mark MacDonald could not avoid collision and MacDonald was unseated.

Jamieson was able to walk off the track under his own power, while MacDonald needed medical attention. MacDonald was transported to Milton Hospital. The horses’ involved appeared to escape serious injury.

Additional updates will be posted when more details are released on the condition of MacDonald.
