DSOA celebrates at 2022 Annual Awards banquet

Dover, DE – On Friday (Jan. 13), the Delaware Standardbred Owners Association held their Annual Awards Dinner emceed by Heather Vitale and Bill Ellis. On this evening, the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund Champions were also honored, along with some other awards deserving recognition.

Several legislators came out to celebrate our Standardbred industry’s stars on this evening including: Governor John Carney, Lt. Gov. Bethany Hall-Long, Senators Eric Buckson, Kyra Hoffner, Spiros Mantzavinos, Trey Paradee, Dave Wilson, and Representatives Billy Bush, Charles Postles, and Lyndon Yearick.

The DSOA Directors are President Andy Markano, First Vice President George Dennis, Second Vice President George Teague Jr., Treasurer Frank Deliberti and Secretary Frannie West.

Other directors include Rich Ashley, Tom Ireland, Jim King Jr., Vic Kirby, Carlo Poliseno, Jason Skinner and Ross Wolfenden. The DSOA Executive Director is Sal DiMario.

There were 11 scholarships awarded totaling $28,000. The DSOA contributed $8,000 and Jim and Barbara Boese gave a very generous contribution of $20,000. Students receiving scholarships included, Jennifer Booth, Alexa Bowman, Amanda Bowman, Bradley Davis, Kenny Hundertpfund, Michael Hundertpfund, Margaret McClements, Shawn Murray Jr., Jonas Scott, Sara Sniezek and Nikajah Teachey.
