Former fastest male 2-yo pacer of all time and 2019 Ohio Horse of the Year Elver Hanover has been officially retired from racing.

Purchased as a yearling by Burke Racing, Elver Hanover was trained throughout his racing career by Ron Burke. Elver Hanover retires with a record of 1:48.3 taken at the age of two, $969,901 in earnings and with 35 wins from 170 lifetime starts. Never raced in a claiming race, Elver raced at the top level each year he raced, racing in the Open Handicap at Northfield Park as recently as August of 2025.
An extremely kind and gentle horse, Elver loves people and his interactions with them. Having spent much of his career in the first stall of the barn at The Meadows, Elver was often the first horse visitors to the barn stopped to see. He is universally loved by all that know him.
Elver Hanover retired sound, healthy and happy and now lives on the farm of Bridgette Jablonsky, his part owner and one of the people who love him the very most.
