Fair racing concludes at Montpelier, Ohio

Montpelier, OH — The Williams County Fair at Montpelier, Ohio wrapped up its two-day meet on Tuesday evening (Sept. 14) with nine harness races and five Trottingbred races. All four colt and filly races that were contested had just one division.

Dick Holsapple steered Kaptain Kosmo (Master Lavec-TK’s Kelsi) to victory in the 2-year-old colt trot with a mile in 2:11.3. Ron Wulber is the gelding’s owner-trainer.

Lofty Mom (Ilooklikemymom-Lofty Sahbra) captured the 3-year-old filly trot in 2:06. Maryann and Patrick Konesky own Lofty Mom with John Konesky III doing the training and driving.

Ben Ott’s Our Little Filly (Towner’s Big Guy-Two-fifty-seven) took the 2-year-old filly pace in 2:03.2. Tom Marts, Jr. is the filly’s trainer-driver.

Indian’s Rocket (Indian Fever-Judith Priest) found the winner’s circle in the 3-year-old colt pace after a mile in 2:01.2. Bill Webb trains the gelding and also co-owns him with Ralph Roughton. Greg Bateson picked up the winning catch-drive on Tuesday.
