Feeling Sweet storms home to victory at Bally’s Dover Wednesday

Dover, DE – Feeling Sweet surged late to win the Fillies and Mares Winners Over/Open Handicap Pace at Bally’s Dover on Wednesday (Nov. 15) night Driver Tony Morgan launched Tae from post eight and rumbled to the quarter in :26.2. The 2/5 betting favorite, Feeling Sweet gladly accepted the pocket trip.

Tae held an uncontested lead at the half in :55.1.(28.4) Misty Coast chased first-over past the half and challenged pace-setter Tae. Misty Coast then cleared for the lead past the three-quarters in 1:23.2 (:28.2) Goo Goo Won was in perfect second-over position to pounce on the leaders but that bid stalled.

Feeling Sweet vacated the pocket at the top of the stretch and stormed home to win by 1-½ lengths in 1:52.2. She paid $2.80 for the win Feeling Sweet (Sweet Lou) is owned by George and Tina Dennis Racing of Wyoming, DE. Joe Columbo trained and Tim Tetrick drove.

Misty Coast, the filly, raced gamely but finished second for trainer Les Givens. Art Stafford Jr. drove. My Kiwi Lady N picked up the show position for Trainer Chris Scicluna. Trae Porter drove.

On Thursday (Nov. 16) there will be (two) Progress Pace elimination races for 3-year-old colt and gelding pacers. Race eight with an estimated off time of 7 p.m. Race 10 with an estimated off time of 7:40 p.m. The first four finishers in the official order of finish of the two elimination races will return for the $260,000 Progress Pace Final on Wednesday (Nov. 22).

Bally’s Dover will be dark on Thanksgiving (Nov.23). There is also a $110,000 DSBF Final for 2-year-old colt and gelding pacers. Post time for Bally’s Dover on Thursday is 4:30 p.m.
