For Once Inmy Life and Wicked Character look to repeat in Ohio Sires Stakes action

Grove City, OH — For Once Inmy Life and Wicked Character will look to go two-for-two in Ohio Sires Stakes action Saturday night (June 3) when MGM Northfield Park hosts the second leg for 3-year-old pacing colts. Two divisions will be contested, each with a purse of $55,000.

For Once Inmy Life, the early 5-2 favorite, drew the rail in the first division. Matt Kakaley will drive the Downbytheseaside gelding for trainer Noel Daley and the ownership group of Country Club Acres, Joe Sbrocco, John Fodera, and Steve Wienick Racing.

For Once Inmy Life was an easy winner in the first leg at Miami Valley Gaming and Raceway on May 6, winning in 1:50.1. He has hit the board in all four starts this year, winning twice.

In the second division, Wicked Character will have to come from the second tier if he hopes to win again in Sires Stakes action. Chris Lems will drive Wicked Character for trainer Ron Burke. The son of Yankee Cruiser is owned by Winterwood Farm, Timothy Sullivan, Robert Jackson, and Tom Wilson.

In his first-leg victory, Wicked Character was last in the eight-horse field at the half-mile but went four wide around the final turn and drove to the wire, winning by a neck in 1:51.3. He has three wins in five starts this year.

Racing Rampage is the early morning line favorite at 3-1. Racing Rampage finished second to Wicked Character in the first leg.

First race post time Saturday night at MGM Northfield Park is 6 p.m.
