Etonnant, trained by Richard Westerink and with Anthony Barrier in the bike, was favored to win the Kymy Grand Prix with a purse for the winner of 100,000 Euro.

Though Etonnant was parked out three wide the first five-eighths of the mile and then parked outside the leader, he would defeat Go On Boy with trainer/driver Romain Derieux at the finish line to win the 1-5/16th mile event in 1:53.2f (mile rate). Third was Phillippe Allaire-trained Callmethebreeze with Gabriele Gelormini.

The win time was a new track and race record.

In Sweden, the 5-year-old Father Patrick son Francesco Zet, with Ôrjan Kihlström, continued his winning streak and has now won 15 races in a row.

In Norbottens Stora Pris at the northern track in Boden, Daniel Redén-trained Francesco Zet was in a class of his own and won easily in 1:54.1f (mile rate). The purse for the winner was 1 million SEK — or $94,000.
