Washington, PA – Due to deteriorating air quality in the area and in the interest of the safety and well-being of both human and equine participants, Hollywood Casino at The Meadows has canceled its live racing program for Friday (July 17).
Live racing will resume Saturday (July 18) with a first post of 12:45 p.m. (EDT). The Saturday card includes several Grand Circuit stakes, including two eliminations for the Grade 1 Delvin Miller Adios Pace for the Orchids, presented by 1/ST BET.

Chester, PA – Harrah’s Philadelphia has canceled live racing on Friday (July 17) due to the poor air quality.
Harrah’s Philadelphia will resume live racing on Sunday (July 19) at 12:40 p.m. (EDT).

ELDORADO SCIOTO DOWNS CANCELS; BSS MOVED TO SEPT. 3
Columbus, OH – Due to the smoke from the Canadian wildfires, air quality in the central Ohio area is at unsafe levels. Therefore, racing Friday (July 17) at Eldorado Scioto Downs has been canceled.
The Buckeye Stallion Series races for 2-year-old filly pacers scheduled for Friday will be moved to Sept. 3 at Scioto Downs. The first leg will now be contested Thursday, July 23.

WOODBINE MOHAWK PARK CANCELS / ONTARIO SIRE STAKES RESCHEDULED
Milton, ON – Woodbine Entertainment has announced Friday’s (July 17) card of live Standardbred racing at Woodbine Mohawk Park is canceled due to poor air quality.
Environment Canada’s air quality index for Milton is again listed as “High Risk” and is expected to remain at this level throughout Friday. Woodbine’s decision to cancel comes through consultation with COSA and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and is consistent with the AGCO’s air quality guidelines.
This cancellation has been made in the best interests of the health and safety of the horses and racing participants.
The Tompkins-Geers Stakes for 2-year-old colt and gelding trotters scheduled for Friday will now be canceled. Nomination and sustaining payments will be split among the entrants.
The Ontario Sires Stakes (OSS) events originally scheduled for tonight (July 17) at Woodbine Mohawk Park have been rescheduled.
The $150,000 OSS Gold Series Leg 3 event for 3-year-old trotting colts has been rescheduled to Sunday, July 19 as Race 12. All post positions remain the same as originally drawn.
The three $30,000 OSS Grassroots divisions for 2-year-old pacing colts have been moved to Monday, July 20. Tonight’s Race 3 will be contested as Monday’s Race 11. Tonight’s Race 7 will be contested as Monday’s Race 12. Tonight’s Race 10 will be contested as Monday’s Race 13. All post positions remain the same as originally drawn.
Qualifiers that were scheduled for Saturday morning (July 18) have been moved to Monday morning (July 20) at 9 a.m. (EDT).
Live racing is scheduled to resume Saturday at 6:30 p.m. (EDT).

Grove City, OH – Due to the smoke from the Canadian wildfires, air quality in the Jackson County, Ohio, area is approaching unsafe levels. Therefore, racing at the Jackson County Fair in Wellston, Ohio, on Friday (July 17) has been cancelled.
Friday’s 10-race card has been postponed to Saturday (July 18) beginning at 12 p.m. as the first half of a doubleheader. Saturday’s 11-race card will begin at its originally scheduled time of 6 p.m.
All racetracks are to use www.airnow.gov as the official site for air quality reading. If the reading is 175 or higher, all racing is to be cancelled.
