From victory in the Paralympic Trot to the Elitlopp

The 7-year-old Swedish trotter Ônas Prince with trainer-driver Per Nordström was in a class by himself winning the first Group 1 race in Sweden in 2024, the Paralympic Trot with a purse for the winner of $140,000 dollars.

Ônas Prince (sired by Chocolatier) equaled the race record winning in 1.52.3f (mile rate) – followed five lengths behind by Kentucky River with Ôrjan Kihlström.

The blistering performance by Ônas Prince brought him an invitation to participate in the Elitlopp later this month.

OnOn the same card ,the two prestigious races for 4- year-olds, The Kings Trophy and The Queens Trophy were raced, both with a purse of $92,500 for the winner.

In the Queen’s Trophy, Karaboudjan (sired by Walner) with Erik Adielsson was an easy winner in 1.56.3f.

Karaboudjan made a “Joviality” as she just like Joviality began her racing career in Tte United States, trained by Marcus Melander, and was transferred to Sweden over the winter.

She is now trained by Adrian Kolgjini.

Joviality driven by Erik Adielsson won the Queens Trophy last year.

The Kings Trophy was more dramatic as leading Holcombe Zet (sired by Daley Lovin) with Ôrjan Kihlström went off stride under pressure from Baron Tilly with Carl Johan Jepson.

Holcombe Zet was first past the post, but was disqualified and placed last, and Baron Tilly won the race in 1.55.4f.

Baron Tilly (sired by Ready Cash) is out of Infra Tilly – she’s a half-sister to legendary Victory Tilly.
