Washington, PA — It may have been only her second victory in 54 career starts, but it was a thing of beauty when Gamine overpowered the field first-over and captured Wednesday’s (July 31) co-feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $10,900 conditioned pace for fillies and mares.
Gamine was fourth when she unleashed a backside burst for Ronnie Wrenn Jr. that propelled her past the leader, Coco Chia. The 4-year-old daughter of Artspeak-Lu Lu Q widened her advantage from there, scoring in a lifetime best 1:52.3. Lorraine J chased the winner home to finish second, 4-1/4 lengths back, while Made It was third.

Cinnamon Crisp demolished the field in a distaff conditioned pace by 10-1/4 lengths in 1:53.3, fastest win of her career. Wrenn drove the 3-year-old filly for trainer Ron Burke and owners Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.
Dave Palone piloted four winners on the 13-race card, including a pair for trainer Johnny Yoder, while Wrenn fashioned a three-bagger.
