Vernon, NY – Handlelikeaporsche (Aaron Byron) takes the $8,500 featured Open Pace at Vernon Downs on Saturday (July 4).

Handlelikeaporsche ($3.08) brushes straight to the front and led to the quarter in :27.1. He used a :28.3 second quarter as he zoomed to the half in :56.3. He was well in control to three quarters in 1:23.1.
As they reached the stretch second place finisher Primo Uomo (Leon Bailey) gave it everything he had but he couldn’t get to Handlelikeaporsche, who glided to the win in 1:50.3. Merrow (Chris Long) finished third.
Handlelikeaporsche is 6-year-old gelding by Lazarus N. He is owned by Pollack racing and trained by Melissa Beckwith. It was his fourth win this season. He now has 16 career trips to the winner’s circle.
Chris Long drove five winners on the card. He was first with Good Rockin, Special Pete, Escape The House, Valor, and Boston Jive. Michelle Warner had a training grand slam. She got her wins with Yo Jo, Escape The House, Valor, and Artic Thunder.
Vernon Downs returns to live racing on Friday (July 10) with a post time of 5:05 p.m.
