Chester, PA – Heavy rains swept through southeast Pennsylvania on Thursday morning and into Thursday afternoon, with the forecast of more bad weather possibly in the offing. The Harrah’s track crew labored on the racing surface for over an hour past the 12:25 p.m. post time until it was decided, for the safety of all concerned, that the Thursday afternoon card would be cancelled.
Racing is scheduled to resume on Friday at 12:25; on Sunday at 12:40 there is the last preliminary leg of PA-sired action for three-year-old trotting colts. Other upcoming events at Philly include the $1.4M Pennsylvania Sire Stakes Championship card for three-year-olds on Sunday, September 6, and the 20th anniversary of the Harrah’s racetrack on a special 6 p.m. card on Saturday, September 12, with the revival of the Colonial Trot, which began at Liberty Bell, an hour up the road.
