Harrington’s 78th season opening approaching

Harrington, DE – Harrington Raceway’s 78th season of live harness racing will commence on Monday, April 8 with a first post time 4:30 p.m.

A Monday through Wednesday schedule will be the norm for most of the meet, except for Aug. 12 – 20, when a Monday-Tuesday schedule will be in play. The meet will conclude on Oct. 23 with the customary summer break in July. There will be one day of racing for the annual Governor’s Day card during the Delaware State Fair (post time 7 p.m.) on July 25.

Horsemen are encouraged to get their racing applications in by March 27. Online applications are available at the Harrington Raceway website.

Qualifiers will be on Wednesdays except for the first qualifier of the season on April 2 and Aug. 6. The first draw for qualifiers will be on Monday, April 1.

Happy hour food and drink specials will be available in Murphy’s Race and Sportsbook on Monday through Wednesday in April during live racing. On Mondays there will be $2 domestic drafts and bottles and $8 french dip with fries. On Tuesdays, $5 quesadillas and $2 tacos with $3 Modelos or $4 lime margaritas. Wednesday will feature $4 hot dog and fries in addition to $1 Pabst Blue Ribbon beers and $2 domestic drafts and bottles. The drink special for the month is $3 orange crushes.

Trackside seating is available in the clubhouse, but food must be ordered at the adjacent Murphy’s Sports Bar.
