Ft. Washington, MD — There may be nothing more satisfying than raising your own yearling and seeing it hit the racetrack. Wednesday night (Sept. 25) at Rosecroft, multiple homebreds won preliminary legs in the Maryland Sires Stakes program.
Three early non-betting races took place and Richard Hans continues to breed and train winners in the young trotting categories. Yall Keep Dreaming, a 2-year old daughter of Yall Beneath Me, scored an 8-1/4 length win in 1:59.1 to improve to 5-for-5 in 2024. Johnathan Ahle was in the bike for Hans.
In the freshman pacing divisions, Rusty’s Lancelot and Eric Davis won in 1:56 for breeder-owner Andrew Scheller and trainer Jerry Nock, while Brooksforreal, the current champion after winning the final at Ocean Downs, scored another win for driver Corey Braden, trainer John Wagner, and owner Kelsey Wagner.
On the pari-mutuel card, Toys Little Tinker improved his lifetime best to 1:55 with a sharp score for trainer-driver Billy Carter and owners Elwood Tignor and Deborah Mulligan who bred the pacing daughter of Rusty’s For Real.

Ragtime Red, bred and owned by David Banks, continues to show superstar ability. After winning a conditioned event last week in 1:52.3, the daughter of Getitoffyourchest, won in 1:53.1 for driver Trae Porter and trainer Michael Hall. She is 6-for-6 since coming to the Hall barn.
“She just continues to learn and get better. She has a winning attitude and Mike (Hall) just continues to bring out more and more in her. She tells me you just sit there, relax, and enjoy it,” Porter said.
Hans and Ahle picked up a second score as Yall Just Love Me notched her first win in five starts, winning in 1:59.
Got The Gold and Ahle won the $10,000 Mares Open in 1:52.4 for Let It Ride Stables and Odds On Racing. It was her ninth win of the year for Hall, who conditions the mare.
Ahle and Porter each won three times on the card and Eric Davis won twice.
