I Did It Myway dominates, wins third in a row

Dover, DE — I Did It Myway brushed to early control and unleashed equal :55.1 halves on his way to his third consecutive win in Thursday’s (Dec. 21) $27,500 Blue Hen/Open Handicap Pace at Bally’s Dover.

Mack led the charge out and reached the opening quarter in :27.2 while Penzance Hanover settled in the pocket. Meanwhile, Tim Tetrick hovered 2-5 favorite I Did It Myway in third before rushing to the top past the quarter. From there, I Did It Myway did it his way on the engine. He reached the half in :55.1 and was pushed to three-quarters in 1:23 by the first-over Penzance Hanover, who stalled on the far turn.

As the field turned for home, Mack left the pocket but gave futile chase to I Did It Myway, who prevailed by a length in 1:50.2. Mack (driven by Montrell Teague) held second; Energetic Hanover (George Napolitano Jr.) overcame stalled cover to finish third.
