Dover, DE — I Get It benefitted from a pocket journey and won the $25,000 Open Handicap Trot at Bally’s Dover on Tuesday night (March 12).

Northern Express and I Get It left the gate together. Northern Express was parked to the opening quarter in :27.1 but cleared as I Get It yielded for a pocket trip and even-money favorite Muscle Dynasty took back to last. Northern Express slowed the tempo to a :56.4 half before Black Hope began his long first-over attack on the pacesetter. Northern Express hit the accelerator and trotted to the three-quarters in 1:25.1, and the backfield was in motion when Black Hope became weary at the top of the stretch. While Muscle Dynasty was closing fast on the outside and That Ole Bar Stool circled four-wide, I Get It remained in the pocket found racing room along the pylons and won by 1-3/4 lengths in a lifetime best 1:54.2. Muscle Dynasty closed late to finish second; Northern Express faded to third.

Victor Kirby drove I Get It ($24.00), an 8-year-old Dontyouforgetit gelding, for trainer Scott DiDomenico and owners Triple D Stables Inc. and Michael Rekoon.

Kirby led all drivers with four wins on the card.
