Incaseyoudidntknow wins Dover Mares Open Handicap

Dover, DE – On a rainy Wednesday night (Dec. 4) at Bally’s Dover, Incaseyoudidntknow dug in gamely and won the featured Mares Open Handicap Pace.

After three pacers left alertly from the gate, Incaseyoudidntknow left from her outside post and grabbed an early lead pacing to the quarter. Divine Deo slipped into the pocket. Race favorite Majorca N left and settled in fifth.

Incaseyoudidnknow cut fractions of :26.4, :55.2 (:28.3), and 1:23.1 (:27.4).

Factory Girl charged first over down the backstretch and challenged pacesetter Incaseyoudidntknow for the lead. Factory Girl held a neck advantage on the outside but could not clear, approaching the three-quarter pole.

Divine Deo maintained pocket position. Race favorite Majorca N circled three wide entering the home stretch but ran out of real estate. Incaseyoudidntknow rallied in the stretch and won by three quarters of a length in 1:52.1. She paid $4.80 for the win.

Incaseyoudidntknow (Always B Miki) is owned by James P. Magno and Joseph P. Fonte both from Maryland. Les Givens trained and Jim Morand drove.

Divine Deo sat in the pocket and finished second for driver Allan Davis and trainer Jason Johnson.  Beyond Words N closed from last and finished third for trainer Mike Hall. Simon Allard drove.

Pat Berry had three driving wins and Clyde Francis three training wins on the betting card.

Thursday’s (Dec. 5) card features the Blue Hen Open Handicap Pace as the 12th race. The race features Penzance Hanover, Backstreet Shadow and Grand Cayman, who will be trying to win for the second time in a row.
