Columbus, OH – Iron Throne, whose show name is Deliverance, won the 27th Annual USTA Roadster Classic final at the World’s Championship Horse Show held during the Kentucky State Fair in Louisville on Thursday (August 22). Scooter Scheurich drove the 5-year-old gelded son by Devious Man for trainer Barbe Smith and owner Melissa Moore’s Sunrise Stables.

Eliminations for the final were held on Monday morning (Aug. 19) with 10 horses going in the final; the other top five placings were:
2nd – Muscle Rocky with driver Chad Cole
3rd – B Hopethree (show name Mr. B) with driver Jon Walker
4th – Show Me Banjo with driver Raymond Shively
5th – Stone Cold Gator with driver Matt Shiflet
The winner earned $12,000 of the $50,000 purse, as well as a Bowman harness, jacket, blanket, USTA sponsored trophy and more. The remainder of the purse was split among the horses that placed second through eighth.
Competing horses must be a registered Standardbred and the owner, trainer and driver must be a current member of both the USTA and American Road Horse & Pony Association.
