It’s Academic wins Caesar’s Trotting Classic, Allywag Hanover takes Hoosier Pacing Derby

Columbus, OH – Odds-on favorite It’s Academic used a pocket trip to capture the $210,000 Caesar’s Trotting Classic in 1:50.3 at Harrah’s Hoosier Park on Friday night (Sept. 22).

David Miller driving for trainer Ron Burke sat the pocket until after the three-quarter mark before taking the lead and holding off Take All Comers and the hard-charging Lovedbythemasses to win by 2-1/2 lengths.

It’s Academic has 30 career wins with $2,103,263 in lifetime earnings.

Owned by Bradley Grant, It’s Academic paid $3.80 to win.

In the $175,000 Harrah’s Hoosier Park Pacing Derby, Allywag Hanover used a late kick through the stretch to win in 1:47.3

Driver Todd McCarthy took a wide trip around the Hoosier Park oval but went by both Lou’s Perlman and odds-on favorite Bythemissal to win by a head.

Trained by Brett Pelling, Allywag Hanover surpassed the $2 million mark in career money with his 65th career win and now has $2,023,293 in lifetime earnings with a 65-27-11-7 record

Lou’s Perlman finished second and Panda Warrior came from way back to finish third another head back. Allywag Hanover is owned by Alywag Stable and paid $10.80 to win.
