Janice Vellutato, 91, dies

Columbus, OH — Janice Elaine Vellutato (nee Poole), 91, of Mickleton, N.J., died Aug. 20, 2022.

She was born on June 10, 1931, on her grandparents’ Banscher farm on Cohawkin Road in Clarksboro to the late Myrtle (Banscher) and Everett Poole Sr.

She was a 1949 graduate of Paulsboro High School and worked for 35 years as a secretary in employee relations, assisting people in finding jobs and was a great help to many.

Mrs. Vellutato also had a stable of Standardbreds, notably Sleepy Time Jan. She also owned Harmony Acres Hoof Beats, a harness and tack shop in Mickleton.

She admired John Wayne, Doris Day, Mary Tyler Moore and Frank Sinatra, but most of all her 1957 Ford T-Bird.

Mrs. Vellutato is survived by her husband of 54 years, James. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Marvin Poole and Everett Poole Jr.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 25) in Eglington Cemetery, 320 Kings Hwy., Clarksboro. Arrangements by McBride Foley Funeral Home, Paulsboro.
