Jody wins wire-to-wire at Bally’s Dover

Dover, DE – Jody made every pole a winning one and and was victorious in the Mares Open Handicap Pace at Bally’s Dover on Wednesday (March 6) night.

Jody took on the elements leaving alertly from post 8 at the start of the race and grabbed the early lead. Tae retreated to the pocket. Even odds race favorite Incaseyoudidntlnow had the best view from last at the quarter-pole.

Jody carved out fractions of :27.2 to the quarter. She continued on an uncontested lead to the half in :56.1, a :28.4 quarter. Southwind Icenfire moved first-up down the backstretch. Disturbed Hanover followed second-over and Incaseyoudidntknow gapped cover, 3rd over on the rim.

Jody continued on a comfortable lead at the three quarters in 1:24.4, a :28.3 kicker.
At the top of the stretch Incaseyoudidntknow gained momentum quickly, pacing four wide in the lane. Jody was able to hold off that late charge and won by a half-length in 1:52.4. She returned $10.20 for the win

Jody (Betterthancheddar) is owned by Reginald A. Hazzard II from Millsboro Delaware. Wayne Givens trained. Allan Davis drove.

Incaseyoudidntlnow was a fast closing second and Tae picked up the show spot.

Penzance Hanover seeks to win his fourth consecutive race in the 12th race Blue Hen/Open Handicap Pace. His main competition will come from a rested I Did It Myway, Mack and Pocono Downs shipper Maximus Miki.
