Malmo, SE — 4-year-old-mare, Joviality with Erik Adielsson in the bike was an easy winner of Sweden’s Trotting Derby at Jägersro Sunday (Sept. 3).

Joviality bred and owned by the powerful Swedish stable, Courant and trained by Sabine Kagebrant made history winning the Derby.

It is the first time ever a woman trainer wins the Derby and the win time for Joviality for the 1-5/8 mile event was 1.56f (mile rate) was a new Swedish record for mares.

Joviality – sired by Chapter Seven – enjoyed a pocket trip behind leading Barck Face and found racing room going round the last bend and into the stretch,

She won by a quarter length and picked up the purse for the winner of 4 mio. SEK – $360,000.

Joviality has now lifetime earnings of 2.1 mio. Dollars.
