Joyce Boring, 81, dies

Columbus, OH — Joyce A. Boring, 81, of Adrian, Mich., died March 18, 2023, at the Hospice of Lenawee Home.

Born on Sept. 5, 1941, in Adrian, she was daughter of Andrew and Ilah (Dillon) Ward. She graduated from Madison High School.

On Feb. 19, 1961, she married Norman “Chris” Boring at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Adrian and they recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.

Joyce and Chris were members of St. Stephens Lutheran Church.

Horses were a big part of her life and she was a member of the United States Trotting Association.

She enjoyed canning for her family and dancing whenever the music called to her. She loved to be outdoors and found great satisfaction in mowing the lawn.

Mrs. Boring is survived by her husband, Chris; children, Michael, Teresa (Darin) Raymond, Melissa (Steve) Lintz, Angela (Marc) Loncki and Amanda (Craig) Bates; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Richard (Carolyn) Ward and Robert (Pat) Ward. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Troy; brother, Andrew Ward Jr.; and sister, Marylou Burk.

Memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday (March 22) from 4-6 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee.
