Kimelman, Lee victorious in MADC at the Big M

East Rutherford, NJ — Two more MADC races were carded on Saturday (April 27) night, but the results were the same as the night before, as both betting favorites once again didn’t finish on top.

In the first race, it was a sprint to the first quarter which saw Marty Monkhouser A (Victoria Stratton) gain the lead but paid the price through an eye popping first quarter of :25.4.  She held the lead as the field turned for home and when there was clearance up the pylons, Gazoo (Michael Kimelman) came flying up the inside to clear to the lead and won by just over 2 in 1:52.4.

Sunshine’s Finest (William Clark Jr.) finished second and My Wish Came True(Anthony Verruso) rounded out the trifecta.  The 5-year-old gelding is co-owned by Kimelman himself along with Scott Kimelman and Sheila Baird, all residing out of NY.

In the fifth race, it was a totally different race as Joe Lee scored the victory aboard Random Hanover, going are to wire in an almost record-breaking amateur mile in 1:50.3.  Longshot Memphistennessee N (Dakota Jackson) finished second while another longshot Rock On Line (Anthony Verruso) rounded out the trifecta.  The 8-year-old gelding is owned by El Dorado Stables out of Florida and is trained by Cote Keim.

The MADC races will be back next Friday (May 3) night at the Big M with a first post scheduled for 6:20 p.m.
