Vernon, NY — Ladysmith and driver Dylan Huckabone-Miller captured the $5,500 featured fillies and mares pace at Vernon Downs on Thursday (Aug. 13).
Flight Crew N (Rene Goulet) led to the quarter in :27.2. She used a :29.1 second quarter to be first to the half in :56.3. Latenitedecisions (Chris Long) came first-up to challenge heading around the final turn. Flight Crew N was the first one to three-quarters in 1:26.
Second-place finisher Latenitedecisions took over the lead when they entered the stretch. Ladysmith ($19.32) came flying late to get up just in time, winning in 1:55. Our Triple Major A (Jimmy Whittemore) took third money.

Ladysmith is a 6-year-old mare by Bettor’s Delight owned by Philippe Trudeau and Isabelle Labbe in partnership with trainer Fannie Saul Beaulieu. It was her first win this season and her sixth career victory.
Jacquavyian Carter had a driving double. Henry Westbrook III had a driving and training double.
