The April 15 deadline is drawing near for many stakes payments. Below are a list of notices that have recently been submitted to the USTA Newsroom. The following information regarding upcoming stakes payments is not meant to be a complete list of every required stakes payment. It is a list of only those notifications that have been provided directly to the USTA for posting here. For more information on payments, click here.

Second payment for New Jersey Sire Stakes due April 15

Trenton, NJ — The deadline for the second payment of New Jersey Sire Stakes entries for the Premier and Standardbred Development divisions is Monday (April 15), for those planning to race in 2024.

Massachusetts stake continuation payments due April 15

Plainville, MA — Owners and trainers of horses eligible to the Massachusetts Sire Stakes should take note that the 2024 continuation payments for all 2- and 3-year-old contenders are due by Monday (April 15).

The 2-year-old payment is $200 and the 3-year-old payment is $300. If there has been a change of name or ownership, please submit a copy of the registration certificate at this time.

The necessary form for this payment is available for download at sominc.net under the “forms” tab.

While on that page, you may also want to download and submit the 2024 yearling nomination form which will be due next month on Wednesday (May 15).

Foals of 2023 from a resident mare registered with Standardbred Owners of Massachusetts, Inc. and the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources are eligible for registration to the Massachusetts Breeding Program. Yearling registration requires a copy of the USTA registration certificate and the fee of $25. Late registration will be accepted until Dec. 31, 2024. Late registration requires a copy of the USTA registration certificate and the May 15 fee of $25, plus a $500 late fee.

DSBF 2-year-old payments due April 15

Dover, DE — DSBF sustaining payments for 2-year olds are due to be postmarked by April 15. The fee is $200.

All 2-year olds who made a May 15, 2023, payment of $40 or March 15, 2024, supplement payment of $350 are eligible to make this payment and race in 2024. It also keeps them eligible as a 3-year old in 2025.

Forms were mailed and are available online or by e-mail request to Judy.Davis-Wilson@delaware.gov.

Credit card payments are accepted and highly recommended and can be made online at the above web address. Click on label for online portal and put the name of the horse in the invoice number field. Also you can put multiple horses in one transaction.
