Last call for Feb. 15 stakes payments

The Feb. 15 deadline is drawing near for many stakes payments. Below are a list of notices that have recently been submitted to the USTA Newsroom. The following information regarding upcoming stakes payments is not meant to be a complete list of every required stakes payment. It is a list of only those notifications that have been provided directly to the USTA for posting here. For more information on payments, click here.

Woodbine stakes nominations due Wednesday

Milton, ON — Woodbine Entertainment would like to issue a final reminder that nominations for the 2023 major stakes at Woodbine Mohawk Park close Wednesday (Feb. 15).

Nominations close for the following major stakes:

If sending payments by mail, envelopes must be clearly postmarked no later than Feb. 15 or payment will not be accepted. Registered mail is recommended.

Maryland payments due Feb. 15

Ocean Pines, MD — Reminder that sustaining forms and possible payment are due Feb. 15, 2023 for the 4 & 5 year old Open Maryland Sire Stakes for trotters and pacers (foals of 2018 & 2019).

Three-Year-Old payments (foals of 2020) are due to the Maryland Standardbred Fund and the Maryland Sire Stakes on Feb. 15, 2023.

All stallion pedigree’s, staking forms, and stake dates are now available online including a printable calendar. Please use our website www.msrfonline.com for all your current MSRF info and any updates as they become available.

We recommend that all payments be sent by certified mail or mail with tracking. Please remember to check and make sure you use this address for the Maryland Standardbred Race Fund, P.O. Box 1530, Ocean Pines, MD 21811.

NJSS payments due Feb. 15

Trenton, NJ — The initial deadline for New Jersey Sire Stakes sustaining payments is approaching.

The first payments for the Standardbred Development Fund, the Premier Division and the Breeders Maturity are due on Feb. 15.

These payments must be made to keep a horse eligible in the program as a 3-year-old. The payment form can be found at this link.

Sophomore DSBF payments due Feb. 15

Dover, DE — Delaware Standardbred Breeders’ Fund 3-year-old payments are due to be postmarked by Feb. 15.

Amount is $300 payable by cash, check, money order, or credit card via the website online portal.

The March 15, 2022, $100 sustaining payment must have been made to be eligible.

Meadowlands stakes payments due Feb. 15

East Rutherford, NJ — The Meadowlands’ extensive 2023 stakes program that includes all of the major Grand Circuit stakes for potential champions of all ages and the New Jersey Classic Series for New Jersey Sired and Standardbred Development Fund horses will require your attention with nomination payments due by Feb. 15.

All information that is pertinent to the choices available for staking to Meadowlands administered stakes and the forms to do so are available on the track website. Conditions for all 2023 stakes are posted at ustrotting.com.

Please note that the New Jersey Sires Stakes are administered by the New Jersey Equine Agriculture Fund. The Hambletonian Society will administer the Hambletonian and all other Society stakes that will be raced at The Meadowlands. That information is listed on their website. Payments for those stakes must be made directly to those offices.

3-year-old OSS sustaining payments due Feb. 15

Toronto, ON — Ontario Sires Stakes 3-year-old sustaining payments are due Feb. 15.

If you intend to race your 3-year-old in the 2023 OSS, please submit hard copy payment postdated no later than Feb. 15, or fill out the online payment form by that date.

The 3-year-olds sustained to the OSS must have been nominated as a yearling. The sustaining payment is C$800 (US$630).

This also serves as a reminder that 2-year-old sustaining payments are due March 15.
