Le Massif takes Saturday feature at Vernon

Le Massif dominated the $7,500 featured pace on Saturday (May 4) at Vernon Downs.

To The Hunt (Dylan Huckabone-Miller) went to the front and led to the quarter in :27.1. Gunpowder N (John MacDonald) came first-up from third and led to the half in :57.2. As they headed to the final turn, Le Massif ($18.20) came first-over and flew right on by and led to three-quarters in 1:25.4.

Le Massif exploded out of the turn and won easily in a seasonal best of 1:53.3. To The Hunt was second. Old Pal (Truman Gale) finished third.

Le Massif is a 5-year-old horse by Shanghai Phil. He is owned by Laurent Pednault and trainer Melanie Boulianne. It was his third win this season. He now has 11 career wins.

John MacDonald drove three winners on the card. Dale Lawton had a training double.
