Leroy Slabaugh, 76, dies

Columbus, OH — Leroy Slabaugh, 76, formerly of Ligonier, Ind., died March 17, 2024, at Goshen General Hospital.

Mr. Slabaugh was born on Oct. 9, 1947 in Nappanee to Levi T. and Lydia Ann (Miller). He lived his entire life in the Northern Indiana area.

He was a horse enthusiast and worked with horses his entire life; he raised, raced and trained Standardbreds throughout his life.

He attended Berea Christian Fellowship in Nappanee.

He is survived by his siblings, Raymond (Linda), Marvin (Betty), Lonnie (Verba), Jerry (Sara), Martha Cesavice, and Freida (Glen) Burkholder; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Delbert.

Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday (March 22) at Berea Christian Fellowship (504 N. Main St., Nappanee, IN 46550). A funeral service will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday (March 23) at Berea Christian Fellowship. Burial will follow in Berea Cemetery, Nappanee.
