Nichols, NY – Let Them Gossip (Mike Merton) captures the featured $9,000 fillies & mares’ pace at Tioga Downs on Friday (Aug. 7).
Let Them Gossip ($8.10) was first to the quarter in :27.3. Artic Thunder (Braxten Boyd) took over the lead with a lap to go and was first to the half in :56.2. Razzin Jazz (Jim Taggert Jr.) came first-up to challenge as they headed down the backstretch. Artic Thunder led to three quarters in 1:24.1.
As they entered the stretch Let Them Gossip blew right on by to win in a lifetime best of 1:53.4. Aint She Pretty (Tom Merton) fired late and finished second. Woodmere Harriet (Ridge Warren) was third best.
Let Them Gossip is a 3-year-old filly by Sunshine Beach. She is owned by Harmon Racing Stable and Alexandria Skowyra while trained by Rob Harmon. It was her ninth win this season and hera 11th career victory.
Ridge Warren drove three winners on the card. Braxten Boyd had a driving double. Michelle Warner had a training double.
