Verona, NY – Linda Sorenson, 70, passed away peacefully June 14 in Verona, N.Y., after a courageous fight with stage four cancer.
She was born Nov. 29, 1954, to Willard and Mary (Ashton) Dansingburg in Romeo, Mich. Her husband, Jeff, was a devoted husband and they were happily married 41 years. She touched the heart of many as she was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother and friend.
Linda worked 50 years in the harness racing industry in several states, including Michigan, Florida, Kentucky, Alabama, Indiana and New York. Her hard work shone through as she had many successes during racing season. She was a huge advocate for Standardbred horses, even finding forever homes as they retired. She was immensely loved by all of her family and will truly be missed.
She is remembered by her three children Misty Watts-Carey (Lonny), Matthew Watts (Madelene) and Jay Watts (Sara) along with grandchildren Alicia (Jason) David, Daniel, Skylar, Brennan (Stine) Paige (Bradley) Melanie, Maja and Marcus and two great-grandchildren, Mollie and Charlotte.
In lieu of flowers, donations are being taken by MMXX Standardbreds.
