Vernon, NY – Chris Long won the first five races including the $5,500 featured fillies & mares pace with Live And Thrive at Vernon Downs on Saturday (June 20).

In the feature, Live And Thrive ($3.58) went straight to the lead and led to the quarter in :27.1. She used a :29 second quarter to be first to the half in :56.1. She cruised to three quarters in 1:24.2.
As they reached the stretch, second-place finisher RocknRoll Shelli (Frank Affrunti) went all out after the leader but Live And Thrive found another gear and won in a lifetime best of 1:53.4. Dizzy Lizzy (Ron Harp) finished third.
Live And Thrive is a 4-year-old mare by Tall Dark Stranger. She is owned by Arthur Pasternak and trained by Brielle Roman. It was her third win this season and her sixth career victory.
Long got his other wins with She B Crazy, SS Superstar, Super Sarah, and Churchview Meow IR.
Vernon Downs returns to live racing on Sunday (June 21) with a post time of 12:15 p.m.
