Lou’s Beach upsets on Harrington opening night card

Harrington, DE — David Hamm and Evm Racing’s Lou’s Beach ($39.80, Jim Morand) was an upset winner in the $22,500 Open Pace Monday (April 8) at Harrington Raceway, opening night of the track’s 78th year of racing.

The 5-year-old Sweet Lou gelding rode the rail throughout and surged down the passing lane in the stretch and emerged a narrow winner over Mack and Trojan Banner N in 1:52.4. Trained by Chuck Crissman Jr., Lou’s Beach recently moved to the Delaware circuit after spending most of the winter at Yonkers Raceway.

Tony Morgan had four wins on the card, including a pair for trainer Bart Bradley. Jim Morand and Art Stafford Jr. each had a triple. Pat Berry and Ross Wolfenden each had a double.
