Grove City, OH — Lt Loverboy was in the spotlight again Wednesday night (Aug. 14) at MGM Northfield Park as he won for the third time in Ohio Sires Stakes action, capturing one of three $50,000 divisions for 2-year-old male trotters.

Starting from the far outside sixth post position, Lt Loverboy with Aaron Merriman was last off the gate. Following a :28.4 opening quarter, Merriman took the son of Long Tom first over as the field approached the half-mile mark. Heading up the backstretch, Lt Loverboy grabbed control and drew away to win by 4-3/4 lengths in 1:58.3. Rose Run Arch finished second with Battle Hill third. It was the fourth win in six lifetime starts for Lt Loverboy. Darren Harvey trains Lt Loverboy for Wayne Mast Jr. and Callam Racing.
The win was the second of the night for Mast and Callam Racing. In the opening division, Merriman took Scrappys Love to the lead and held the top spot until late in the stretch when Oso Fast and Chris Lems charged down the lane to win by a neck in 1:58. It was the first win in four starts for the Coraggioso gelding. Scott Cox trains Oso Fast. Scrappys Love was second while What A Buckeye finished third.
The final division went to Whats Shakin and Ronnie Gillespie. The son of What The Hill sat mid-pack until the final turn when he went three-wide, taking control mid-stretch to win by three-quarters of a length in 2:00.1. Whats Shakin has hit the board in all four starts, winning two. Gillespie trains Whats Shakin for Bill Donovan. Stud Muffin T finished second with Uncle Moneybags third.
Ohio Sires Stakes action continues Friday (Aug. 16) at Eldorado Scioto Downs with freshman filly pacers.
