Lying In Cash returns a winner in Northville Open

Northville, MI – Lying In Cash and driver Jason Merriman took the Saturday night (May 27) $10,800 featured Open Handicap Pace at Northville Downs after a two-week freshener.

The 7-year-old son of Aracache Hanover scored in wire-to-wire fashion and drew off to win by 4-1/4 lengths after blazing fractions of :26.4, :55.4, 1:23.4, stopping the timer in 1:53 flat. It established a new season’s best mark for the gelding and marked his 31st career victory. The win pushed his career earnings to $207,650. Fred’s Nightmare (Drew Neill) settled for place and Commander Bob (Kody Massey) got up for third.

Lying In Cash is bred, owned and trained in Michigan by Techia Lohmann.

Driver Kody Massey had four driving wins on the night while driver Drew Neill had a driving double and Paul Cloer , Jr. had a training double.

Racing at The Ville resumes Friday (June 2) at 7 p.m. Friday night is dollar night with $1 live programs, $1 pop, $1 popcorn, $2 hot dogs and beer, as well as hamburger and cheeseburger specials. Northville Downs races every Friday and Saturday night from now until Sept. 30 with a 7 p.m. post time.
