Lying In Cash stalks, strikes in Northville feature

Northville, MI — Lying In Cash and driver Jason Merriman captured Saturday night’s (April 15) featured $10,800 Open 1 Handicap Pace at Northville Downs in 1:54.2.

Lying In Cash grabbed the first call and controlled a :27.4 quarter before yielding to Magic Shark and Kody Massey going to the :57 half. Challenger Oh K Man exchanged blows with Magic Shark past the half, the 1:25.3 three-quarters, and into the stretch when Merriman guided Lying in Cash up the open stretch from the pocket to win by a widening 1-1/4 lengths. Magic Shark settled for second; Dusto and Drew Neill got up for third.

It was the 29th career victory for the 7-year-old Aracache Hanover gelding, who was bred by owner-trainer Techia Lohmann.

Racing at Northville resumes Friday (April 21) at 7 p.m. Friday night is dollar night with $1 live programs, pop and popcorn, and $2 hot dogs, beer and hamburger specials.
