Edgerton, OH — Even though Mandy Jones did not pick up any wins at either the Miami County Fair at Troy, Ohio, on Monday (Aug. 12) or the Henry County Fair at Napoleon, Ohio, on Wednesday (Aug. 14), she garnered enough points at those two fairs to vault to the top in the Spring Haven Farm Ladies Driving Series.
Jones now leads the pack of 21 lady drivers with 252 points. Lauren Harmon sits in second place with 247 points while Leslie Joyce occupies the third spot with 243 points.
Bobbie Jo Brewer took the lone division at Troy with Humboldt. Humboldt’s winning time was 2:02.1.
Seventeen horses were entered at Napoleon which required the race to be split into three divisions. Jazmin Arnold captured the first division with Yacht Week in a time of 1:59.4. Jennifer Main came home first in the second split with Franky’s Beach Boy after a mile in 2:00.1. Leslie Joyce found the winner’s circle with Riggins Art in the third division. Joyce and Riggins Art circled the Napoleon twice-around in 2:00.1.
The Spring Haven Farm Ladies Driving Series will visit three sites next week. The ladies will compete at the Allen County Fair at Lima, Ohio, on Tuesday (Aug. 20) and will race at both the Darke County Fair at Greenville, Ohio, and the Defiance County Fair at Hicksville, Ohio, on Wednesday (Aug. 21). Post time for the first race at both Lima and Hicksville will be 6:30 p.m. with the first race getting underway at Greenville at 7:15 p.m.
