Marloe Hanover impressive in Miami Valley Mares Open

Lebanon, OH — It has been awhile since Marloe Hanover reached the winner’s circle following a Mares Open at Miami Valley, but only because her stablemate Alexa Skye has been dominant in recent weeks in the feature event. In the $30,000 Mares Open on Thursday (March 30), she resumed her prolific winning ways with a gate-to-wire win in 1:51 for driver Trace Tetrick and trainer Virgil Morgan Jr.

Marloe Hanover, a 6-year-old daughter of Captaintreacherous, topped Single Girl (Tyler Smith), Wildcat Victoria (Dan Noble) and seven other foes for her 26th win of her career. Her bankroll has swelled to $879,277. She is owned by the Let It Ride Stable, Bottom Line Racing and J.L. Benson Stable, all of Florida.

Tetrick needed a quick first eighth of a mile to wrest the lead away from Single Girl before hitting the quarter-mile mark in :26.4. From there, the pair remained one-two through middle fractions of :55.4 and 1:23, and then Marloe Hanover sprinted home in a :28 final panel. Although Wildcat Victoria, Velocity Lady (Brady Galliers) and Trick Of The Light (Chris Page) all tried valiantly to erase the top two’s advantage, it was not to be.

Marloe Hanover paid $5.80 to win, and the Marloe Hanover-Single Girl exacta kicked back $24.80.

Miami Valley will be dark on Friday and Saturday, then will return to live action from Sunday (April 2) through Thursday (April 6) with a 4 p.m. post each afternoon.
