Berlin, MD — Ocean Downs hosted the final freshman Maryland Sire Stake prelims on Wednesday (Aug. 30).

The 2-year-old trotting fillies went behind the gate in an early non-wagering event. Only I Exist went gate-to-wire in sweeping both preliminary events. Driver Russell Foster steered the Yall Beneath Me offspring to the 2:03.2 win for owner-trainer-breeder Riichard Hans. New Concept (Lockkeeper) finished second.

The pacing colts and geldings went to post in race five. Reinsman Johnathan Ahle sent For You Girls (Dontloseyourdayjob) to the lead, opening ground at every fraction of the 1:57.3 mile, with Firecrackergraham (Mr Apples) holding the place spot the entire mile. Katie Callahan trains For You Girls for owner-breeder Brian Callahan.
