Vernon, NY – McBardle (Brad Irvine) fires late to capture the $4,000 Pace of the day at Vernon Downs on Friday (July 4).

Dude With Tude (Jimmy Whittemore) was first to the quarter in :27.2. Simple Man (Steeven Genois) took control heading to the backstretch and was first to the half in :57.0. Mississippi Rabbit (Leon Bailey) took his turn on the lead and led to three-quarters in 1:26.0.
As they reached the stretch second place finisher Simple Man and third place finisher Mississippi Rabbit continued to slug it out. McBardle ($13.80) joined the party going three-wide in mid-stretch. He got by in time to win in 1:54.4.
McBardle is a 5-year-old gelding by McArdle. He is owned by Gordon Swift and trained by Jeff Sorenson. It was his second win this season. He now has nine career victories.
Leon Bailey drove three winners on the card. Luke Carswell had a training double.
