Washington, PA — Here is this week’s Meadows Monday Memo.

RACING THIS WEEK
Hollywood Casino at The Meadows will race Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week at 12:45 p.m. Saturday’s card will begin at 11:30 a.m., as we change our posts on Triple Crown days.

FRIDAY NIGHT RACING ON THE HORIZON
Friday night racing will return to The Meadows on May 26, post time will be at 5:10 p.m. We will continue racing on Friday evenings through much of the summer.

BETTS CAPTURES FIRST GLADA EVENT
Throughout the summer months, The Meadows will offer multiple opportunities for amateur drivers to compete in various races for the Great Lakes Amateur Driving Association. This past Saturday we hosted our first event and local trainer Scott Betts picked up the winning drive. Betts, who is fourth at The Meadows in training wins with 29, joins another top local trainer, Ron Burke, as winners in their only drive of the season. Betts’ win came with Redwhite N Goo, a 5-year-old Googoo Gaagaa gelding who trotted in 1:55.4.

TRIPLE DIGITS
Driver Ronnie Wrenn Jr. made the trip to The Meadows last Wednesday for just one drive, behind Ourlittlemiracle in a distaff conditioned pace. The 5-year-old mare by Bettor’s Delight was a winner in 1:53.3, giving Wrenn his 100th winning drive of the season at The Meadows. Wrenn joined Dave Palone as the first two local drivers to reach the 100 win mark. At week’s end, Palone had recorded 126 wins, while Wrenn was now at 104.

MONTI GAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Driver Drew Monti has been increasing his number of drives weekly at The Meadows. While Monti has spent limited time at The Meadows in past winters, he has stuck around into the Spring this season and is currently ninth in total wins with 36, and seventh overall in number of drives with 436 through Saturday. He will drive in eight of 12 races on Wednesday.
