Washington, PA — Here is this week’s Meadows Monday Memo.

THIS WEEK’S SCHEDULE
Hollywood Casino at The Meadows will be racing our regular summer schedule this week: Wednesday and Thursday afternoons at 12:45 p.m.; Friday evening’s card will begin at 5:10 p.m.; and Saturday’s card will begin at 12:45 p.m.

POP UP SERIES ANNOUNCED
The Meadows’ Race Office has announced that they will be writing Pop Up Series events for 2-year-old trotters and pacers. The events will have no nomination fee and no starting fee. The first series, for pacing fillies, will begin next Wednesday (June 28), with entries closing this Friday morning. On Friday (June 30), the series will begin for trotting colts/geldings and pacing colts/geldings. Due to a sire stake, the event for trotting fillies will be pushed to the second week of July. Each series will have two legs, each for a $10,000 purse, and a $15,000 final.

11 RACES FOR FRESHMEN ON TUESDAY
A total of 15 qualifying races are scheduled for Tuesday morning (June 20), with 11 of those set aside for 2-year-old trotters and pacers. Post time for the first race will be 10:30 a.m., and the races will be shown live on the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association’s Facebook page.

TRAINER REPORT
Parity was the word for the week at The Meadows over the past four cards, with no trainers recording more than four wins for the week. Ron Burke continues to lead the way with 110 wins, while Dirk Simpson’s two wins for the week put him at 60. Stacey Currie continues to lead all trainers in winning percentage (46.7 percent) and UTR rating (.604).

WILDER HAS SOLID WEEK
Mike Wilder led the way over the past four cards with nine wins from 43 drives. Ronnie Wrenn added six wins for the week (23 drives), while Dave Palone and Hunter Myers each recorded five wins. Wilder improved his UDR rating from .320 to .324. Wrenn leads in UDR (.411) while Palone is tops in wins with 159.

60TH ANNIVERSARY COMING UP
Look for more details next week as The Meadows prepares to celebrate its 60th anniversary on Friday night (June 30). The track’s opening night was June 28, 1963.
