Meadows Monday Memo

Washington, PA – Here is this week’s Meadows Monday Memo:

BACK TO ACTION

After taking a week off for scheduled track maintenance, Hollywood Casino at The Meadows returns to racing action this week. Qualifying races will be held on Tuesday (Sept. 25) morning at 10:30 a.m. A total of seven qualifiers will take place, including multiple events for 2- and 3-year-olds that are returning after spending the summer on the PA Fair Circuit. Also qualifying Tuesday is aged trotting track record holder Jeffery P, who has not yet raced in 2023 for the Ron Burke Stable. Qualifying races can be watched live on Facebook, on the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association page.

FALL SCHEDULE STARTS WEDNESDAY

Our first pari-mutuel card of the fall will be on Wednesday (Sept. 27), starting at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday’s card will feature 13 races, while the Thursday (Sept. 28) card will be 14 races. The Meadows will race a three-day/week schedule, Wednesday-Thursday-Friday afternoons this fall. The only exception will be on Friday, October 13, when we will host a special 5:10 p,m. card, our annual Pink Out event.

KEYSTONE CLASSICS ALL WEEK

Keystone Classic events will continue this week at The Meadows. Wednesday’s card will feature one $52,000 division of the KC for sophomore filly trotters. Tipsy Moni, trained by DR Ackerman and driven by Ronnie Wrenn, is the 7-5 morning line favorite. Two $24,000 divisions of the 3YO Colt Trot will be held on Thursday. The draw for Friday will take place on Tuesday morning, and that card will feature both the 3YO colt and 3YO filly pacers in Keystone Classic events. Estimated purses are $68,000 for the colts and $74,000 for fillies.
