Washington, PA — Here is this week’s Meadows Monday Memo:

RACING THREE DAYS THIS WEEK
We will be racing our regular fall schedule this week, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 12:45 p.m.  The Wednesday and Thursday cards have been drawn, with 13 races each day.

CHARLINO ON VERGE OF MILESTONE
Driver Dan Charlino, part of the “Burke Brigade” who regularly pilots several horses from the stable, currently has 2,999 career driving wins. Charlino has three drives on the Wednesday card.

PALONE NEARS 300 WINS, BURKE 200
Driver Dave Palone currently has 297 driving wins at The Meadows this season and will likely top the 300 mark this week.  Trainer Ron Burke enters the week with 195 victories at The Meadows this year, tops among local conditioners.

STAKE SEASON ENDS
With the conclusion of the Keystone Classics this past Friday, The Meadows has concluded its stake schedule for 2023. Among non-Meadows regulars, two trainers had strong summers shipping-in for stake races. Ake Svanstedt’s stable won eight Meadows stakes, while Jim Campbell sent out seven winners.
