Washington, PA — Here is this week’s Meadows Monday Memo.
PALONE REACHES 21,000 WINS
Driver Dave Palone reached yet another milestone this past week at The Meadows, with career driving win 21,000. Racing’s all-time wins leader continues to add to his record, as he is once again leading the driver standings at The Meadows this season with 338 wins in 1,423 drives, a 23.8 percent clip.
FAST NOVEMBER MILE
Benjamin Hanover, a Sebastian K S gelding trained by Sarah Andrews, went wire-to-wire in the Open Trot at The Meadows this past week in 1:51.3. The mile equaled his own track record, set in September, for 4-year-old trotting geldings. The mile also equaled the second fastest in track history, just two-fifths of a second behind Jujubee’s 1:51.1 all-time track standard. It was by far the fastest mile ever on the trot at The Meadows during the month of November.

The last Great Lakes Amateur Driving Association event of the season has been carded as race one on Wednesday and drew a field of six. Tequila Talkin, driven by Mickey Burke Jr. for his brother, trainer Ron Burke, has been installed as the 8-5 morning line favorite over 5-2 Mass Market, driven by Lauren Harmon for trainer Johnny Yoder.
