Washington, PA – Here is this week’s Meadows Monday Memo.
LOUA DIPA LEADS TUESDAY QUALIFIERS
Hollywood Casino at The Meadows will host 10 qualifying races on Tuesday morning (June 30), starting at 10:30 a.m. (EDT). Races 1-4 will be for older horses, with races 5-10 exclusively for 2-year-olds. Among those scheduled to qualify is sophomore pacing filly Loua Dipa, making her first appearance since a June 20 Pennsylvania Sire Stake victory at Pocono in 1:50.3. Her previous start was a 1:48.1 triumph in the Fan Hanover Stakes. Ronnie Wrenn Jr. is slated to drive Loua Dipa for trainer Ron Burke. Racing fans can watch all of the action live on the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association’s Facebook page. Qualifier video is also archived at www.youtube.com/themsoa.
CHANGES COMING FOR PICK-4, PICK-5 WAGERS
Starting this Wednesday (July 1), there will be some changes to the Pick-4 and Pick-5 wagers at The Meadows. In the past, if one leg of either wager was either canceled or declared a no-contest, the entire pool was refunded. Under the new policy, the wager will continue as long as more than 50% of the races are contested. Any races that are not completed will be treated as an “All” for wagering purposes. Additionally, the Pick-5 will now have a 100% net pool carryover if no full, five-of-five winning tickets are sold.
UPDATE TO ADIOS CONDITIONS
Hollywood Casino at The Meadows would like to make horsemen aware of an update to the conditions for this year’s Adios and Adioo Volo pacing events. The published conditions read, “At the time of declaration a starter must show at least one clean charted line (no breaks) within 45 days prior to the date of declaration.” However, current Pennsylvania regulations stretch that number to 60 days. Therefore, using its reserved right to amend the conditions, the Washington Trotting Association will use 60-day figure for the 2026 events. The Grade 1 Delvin Miller Adios Pace for the Orchids, presented by 1/ST BET, will take place on July 25, with elimination races held on July 18. The Adioo Volo will take place on July 25.
