Okemos, MI — The Michigan Harness Horsemen’s Association (MHHA) is offering scholarship opportunities totaling $10,000 to MHHA members, dependents or immediate family members (stepchildren, nieces and nephews) of living or deceased MHHA members for two years in good standing.

Scholarship awards are as follows: $5,000 first place, $2,500 second place, $1,200 third place, $800 fourth place and $500 fifth place.

Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a post-secondary educational program that prepares students for gainful employment in a recognized occupation. They may be pursuing a career of their choice.

Applicants will be evaluated on several criteria, including but not limited to: academic performance, financial need, strong leadership skills, character, motivation, community service, and knowledge of the harness racing industry.

Applications are due April 14. All application forms and transcripts from the applicant’s high school or college must be postmarked no later than April 15 and mailed to the MHHA Scholarship Fund at 2501 Jolly Rd, Suite 110, Okemos, MI 48864.
