Millionaire Dayson returns with Miami Valley victory

Lebanon, OH — Now 10 years old, millionaire trotter Dayson returned to the racing wars following an eight-month layoff with a convincing 1:54.1 triumph in Miami Valley’s top conditioned trot on Tuesday (Jan. 10).

After a couple runner-up finishes in qualifiers, the accomplished son of Conway Hall extended his career bankroll to $1,240,152 by wiring a good field in the $18,000 event.

Driver Chris Page sent the 6-5 favorite directly to the front and played “catch me if you can” with eventual runner-up Dans Credit (Jordan Ross) and third-place finisher Double A Goldrush (Trace Tetrick).

It was the 44th victory in 110 lifetime starts for Dayson, but just his second in the last two years. Prior to today’s victory, his most recent win was April 1, 2022, at the Meadowlands in 1:54. Dayson took his lifetime mark of 1:51.2 almost seven years ago, as a 3-year-old.

Burke Racing, Weaver Bruscemi, J & T Silva and Larry Karr own the veteran millionaire gelding.

The score was Page’s third on the night and matched both Tetrick and Brett Miller’s hat tricks for top driving honors on the day.

Racing at Miami Valley resumes Wednesday afternoon (Jan. 11) with the normal 4 p.m. post time.
