Muscle Dynasty dominates at Dover

Dover, DE — Muscle Dynasty sustained a long overland grind en route to a 1:53.2 lifetime mark in Tuesday’s (Feb. 21) $25,000 Open Trot at Bally’s Dover.

Northern Express worked to clear Embrace The Grind for the early lead through a :27.2 first quarter before yielding to Embrace The Grind with a lap to go. As Embrace The Grind led to the half in :55.2, Muscle Dynasty and driver Corey Callahan began to march first-over out of fifth and advanced to push the pace to three-quarters in 1:24.1. At the top of the stretch, Muscle Dynasty took the lead and drew clear to win by 1-1/2 lengths.

The ground-saving Northern Express (driven by Russell Foster) finished second as the 8-5 favorite; Embrace The Grind (Tony Morgan) faded to third.

Shea Lare trains Muscle Dynasty, a son of Muscle Hill who paid $9.00 to win, for Frank Chick.

Callahan led all drivers with four wins on the 12-race card; driver Ross Wolfenden and trainer Jim King Jr. notched triples.

Racing at Bally’s Dover resumes Wednesday (Feb. 22), with the card featuring a $25,000 Mares Open Handicap Pace that will see Majorca N take on Incaseyoudidntknow and Divine Deo. First post is 4:30 p.m.
